A woman from out of state was arrested for her involvement in a recent crash that left one person dead. She is charged with drunk driving. If convicted, the consequences attached to this level of DUI in Pennsylvania can be severe.
According to reports, back in July, the accused was operating her vehicle in a Walmart parking lot when she struck an 82-year-old woman. The victim suffered critical injuries and ultimately died as a result of those injuries. The victim was a long-time resident of the Delmont area and is said to have been an outstanding and respected member of the community.
The accused was taken into custody shortly after the event. During a recent court hearing, this individual appeared without representation. She and her family have yet to retain private legal counsel. Bond was set in her case at $25,000, which is lower than the standard amount for this type of case.
