Pennsylvania man charged with drunk driving

A Pennsylvania man is preparing for a legal battle after being arrested following a car crash on June 17. He is facing drunk driving and other charges as a result of the event. A preliminary hearing regarding this case has already taken place.

At approximately 6:30 a.m., a 38-year-old male was operating his SUV on Route 8 in Shaler when he is said to have crossed the center line and struck another vehicle. The driver of the impacted car — a 69-year-old woman — and her passenger — a 36-year-old male — were both injured and transported to the hospital for treatment. The female victim is said to have suffered critical injuries, while her passenger was treated and immediately released.

The driver believed responsible for the collision was promptly arrested and transported to the Allegheny County Jail. Bond was set at $20,000, which the accused paid and was then released. This individual is charged with DUI, hit and run, reckless endangerment and driving on the wrong side of the street.

Drunk driving charges are not treated lightly by the state of Pennsylvania. As two people suffered injuries in this incident, the penalties the accused is facing if he is convicted may be quite severe. An experienced criminal defense attorney can help this gentleman fight to protect his freedom while seeking the best possible outcome. There are a number of defense strategies that may be utilized in DUI cases. With the assistance of counsel, the accused can make informed decisions in regard to his case throughout the course of his legal proceedings.
