A young man in Pennsylvania has found himself facing criminal charges following a recent incident in Pittsburgh. This gentleman is accused of hitting a pedestrian with his motorcycle, causing his passenger to suffer injuries and leaving the scene of the accident. Authorities believe that drunk driving was behind this event.

According to a recent news report, on Saturday, April 21, a 20-year-old male was operating his motorcycle on East Carson Street with a female passenger in tow. He allegedly struck a pedestrian, causing his passenger to be ejected from the bike. He is said to have fled the scene but was stopped and arrested by police within minutes of the incident.

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital in stable condition. The accused’s passenger was not wearing a helmet and was taken to a medical center in critical condition. The current conditions of both individuals have not been reported.

Authorities did not mention what charges are expected in this case, but a number of potential charges do come to mind — DUI, hit and run and vehicular assault to name a few — all of which could have serious consequences if a conviction is achieved by prosecuting attorneys. At such a young age, the accused has a lot to lose, so how he chooses to fight this case matters. An attorney with experience handling drunk driving cases of this nature can help the accused navigate the Pennsylvania criminal court system, seek to protect his rights and fight for the best outcome possible.
